Hello there! I myself do not know the answers to a lot of these questions ( I’m not an expert ) but I wanna ask a question. I have a puggerdale ( me and my mom like to call it padderpug so I’ll it that for the rest of this ) and he was an accident when my dad’s padderdale and my mom’s pet pug “met up”. I don’t know how to describe the best accident of a lifetime because I love my padderpug, his name is Jake and he means everything to me. He learns very quickly ( I taught him “come here” within the span of 2 days.) and he is very faithful to me and loves to sleep with me in bed. Though the question pose to you is that. . Is it very common for this breed to be afraid of a lot of things? Like I said I’m not an expert but I’m worried about my dog cause he’s scared of his own shadow. And I’m not kidding I was eating in the dining room once and had to go turn on the light and he jumped after seeing his shadow. He’s even afraid of very common toys a pet should have like a small ball ( mostly the size of a humans palm ) and a rope toy. Plus he is terrified of the leash, if I take it out and he sees it I have to chase him around the house because he runs away from me if I have the leash in my hand, not the collar though he does better with that. Back to the leash, if I manage to get it to attach to his collar he does not move, and I’ve tried everything to motivate him like speaking softly and telling him it’s okay, offering him treats to at least move foward, offering him peanut butter dog treat cookies ( which he loves and like to horde all at once ). I still love him and feel bad for him as 2 years before this we had him and his mom in our family room, the problem with it was I was the only one taking care of them ( feeding, watering, cleaning up messes ) so then after a while. I realized something had to be done for them because the room was shitty, there was poop stains everywhere it smelled horrible. And I’m glad I chose to take Jake in. Any help from any of you would be nice! Thank you, I’m very new to this and still learning and can’t find much on padderpugs
